Bletchley park again
English Heritage, officially known as the ‘Historic Buildings and Monuments Commission for England’ has now tossed in £330,000 to maintain Bletchley Park. There is talk of granting twice that again in the coming years. This is a really good thing. My one big regret of my time in the UK is not visiting this historic site. At least I can try again in the furture and it should still be around.
One site I did make it to and am glad I did is also funded by English Heritage: Dover Castle. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to gain at least some feeling of what it must have been like during the dark days of the early 1940s.
